Firbanks Mobile
We're proud to announce our latest addition to our communications services - Firbanks Mobile.
We can now offer our customers the option to use a landline number on their mobile phone. We're talking about genuine GSM mobile phone calls, not Internet based calls. This is a huge milestone for Firbanks IT. We believe that this service fits most sizes of company. Small businesses may choose to configure a landline phone number for their customers so that there is no need to advertise a mobile number for field based workers. Larger businesses may choose to use the mobile as part of their switchboard and use hunt groups, queues, IVR menus or just a direct DDI number to route calls back to mobiles. Mobile workers outbound calls can originate from the main office number too. You can also make use of mobile broadband data speeds of up to 14.4mbps in some areas.
Pricing depends on whether you are an existing Firbanks customer and whether you already have an IP switchboard maintained by ourselves..
Mobile Set up - £20 (includes our SIM pack)
Monthly line rental £10
Mobile call charges carry 3pence per minute carrier charge for inbound and outbound calls (still cheaper than calling a mobile!) + tariff rate for outbound calls
Add on inclusive mobile routing £7.50 (500 mins) cuts out the carrier charge.
Add on unlimited landlines £8
Add on unlimited mobiles £30
Unbundled data charges 6pence per mb
Add on 1Gb inclusive data £7.50

How can you provide a landline over the mobile network?
We use an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) service utilising the 3G leg of the 3 and T-mobile networks.
What is the coverage like?
3 and T-mobile's 3G network currently has a coverage rate of 98.5% of the UK population. Please click here to use the coverage checker for further details.
Can you supply the handsets?
Firbanks can supply telephone handsets but only as SIM free, unlocked phones. There is currently no handset subsidy in place
Can I use my own handset?
As long as you have an unlocked, 3G handset or a handset that functions on the 3 mobile network then it should work with our service. If you are unsure then please contact a member of our team who will be able to assist.
Can I use a 2G handset?
Unfortunately not. Our service specifically requires a 3G network to function. Placing our SIM in to a 2G phone will present the message 'invalid SIM.'
Can I use a smartphone?
Yes you can. You can use a smartphone, utilise our very fast data speeds of up to 14.4mbps. We can provide you with a bundle if you use data regularly. Our data services support push email but do not currently support any blackberry related services.
